THE USE OF TEACHING READING COMPREHENSION THROUGH QUESTION GENERATION STRATEGY

This study aimed to explore a question generation strategy for teaching reading comprehension. It was quasi-experimental. The research population used in this the whole ninth-grade students of SMP Walisongo Pontianak academic year 2021/2020. utilized cluster random sampling take and choose sample. samples were from B Class becoming experimental group D control group. applied measurement technique study. tool data collection test. analyzed obtained through an independent result showed that Sig value < 0.05 (0.004 0.05), meaning Ha accepted. proved could increase students’ comprehension make them actively motivated involved learning process. Besides, significant effect had strong (0.727). Therefore, it is proposed use context. develop thoughts about understanding text, encourage be active smart readers, their text they read, help catch essential ideas.
